Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best CapCut editing camp for kids in Singapore?
Mind Theory runs Singapore's dedicated CapCut editing holiday camp for Secondary school students (ages 12 to 16). Unlike adult SkillsFuture courses, our camp is built for teens who want to create YouTube videos, school projects, and social media content. Every student leaves the camp with a finished edited video and the skills to keep making more at home.
What age is the CapCut holiday camp for?
The camp is designed for Secondary school students between the ages of 12 and 16. Younger children aged 10 to 11 with strong digital confidence can also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
How long is the CapCut camp at Mind Theory?
The holiday camp runs over three lessons of 120 minutes each, scheduled across the March holidays (16 to 20 March 2026) and the June to August holiday window (1 June to 21 August 2026).
Is CapCut suitable for kids?
Yes. CapCut is one of the most beginner-friendly video editing apps available today and is used widely by students, educators and professional content creators. It runs on both mobile and desktop, which makes it easy for students to continue practising at home. Mind Theory teaches CapCut alongside real storytelling principles so students learn not just the app but the craft of editing.
What will my child learn in the CapCut holiday camp?
Students learn how to shoot and edit short videos using CapCut, including transitions, effects, music, titles, pacing, storytelling, and export techniques. By the end of the camp they can produce a finished vlog, short film or digital story.
CapCut vs iMovie for kids - which is better?
CapCut is generally the better choice for Singapore teens today. It has a friendlier interface, runs on any device (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android), and includes the effects and transition libraries that match the style of videos teens actually want to make. iMovie is Apple-only and has a more limited effects set. CapCut is also free for all core features, while iMovie requires an Apple device to use at all.
Can my child use CapCut at home after the camp?
Absolutely. CapCut is free to download and students can continue editing immediately after the camp ends. Our curriculum is designed so students leave confident enough to edit their own family videos, school projects, and social content without needing further supervision.
Do I need to buy CapCut Pro for the camp?
No. The free version of CapCut includes everything students need for the holiday camp. Advanced users may choose to upgrade later, but this is completely optional.
Is this a Singapore June holiday programme?
Yes. The CapCut holiday camp runs during both the March and June school holidays in 2026. June dates fall within 1 June to 21 August 2026 to accommodate different family travel schedules. Early booking is recommended as class sizes are kept small for individualised instruction.
Do students need their own laptop for the CapCut camp?
We have desktops available for the whole class, but if your child prefers to use their own, its fine with us too.
